Thoughts on ski simulators

Ski simulators that are kinda like a tread mill with a moving snow like inclined carpet with a mirror in front are they practical for learning ?

The instructor can stand very close to the skier to give commands plus the skier can see in the mirror the movements they are making. The bar @ the front of the machine with the sliding hand grips would be use full for helping the skier gauge any up down movement kinda like doing turns with the poles across the thighs drill.

I have never tried a ski simulator. Those that have used ski simulators do you think they should be used for practicing movements ?

I have used ski decks with rolling carpet for years and have coached races on them. If you have a good deck and skis with the right carpet and a coach, (who knows what he is doing) they are hard to find, yes, they can be helpful. Otherwise a waste of time.
