Conditions were brutal at Val d"Isere yesterday for the men's slalom. Its a tough hill to begin with with extremely steep sections. And it was a solid sheet of ice and then they got a foot of snow on top of it. Absolutely brutal. Hisrcher's second run was one for the ages and it brought back memories for me of another great run in snow on ice by Jean Baptiste Grange several years ago in Beaver Creek. Check out both runs. As great as Grange's run was the conditions in France yesterday were about twice as hard with zero visibility.
