Mikaela wins Levi

Nice way for her to start the season. She had the 3rd or 4th fastest first run time but she smoked her 2nd run. And we finally saw some vintage Mikaela where she picked up huge time in the bottom 3rd of the course. The competition vs 7-8 years is ago is significantly better. But I did notice that Vhlova said during the off-season that she wasn’t sure what she had left to accomplish with her racing. It’s impossible to say and think that without taking the foot off the gas a good bit. And that’s where Mikaela has been after the loss of her dad. I think her life has returned to something more normal, she has had time and energy to train. It could be a big year for her.

Today was WC win #75. Truly remarkable!

Let’s make it a double! WC win #76 after winning again in Levi. She had the fastest first run where she picked up .28 seconds in the last section. And then the fastest 2nd run where she was fastest in every split. Impressive! Looks like she is locked and loaded for this season. And in case you missed it, she is going to race fewer speed events this season, with a big focus on winning Slalom and GS. She’s off to a good start!
