Thanks, I'm in NJ unfortunately. I'll probably try playing with my old boots first to get an idea of how it feels.

I did read all of the older threads on the topic but it's tough to know what needs to change, I think I need some video.

What you need is a belt sander and make sure you mark how much you want to take off before you start grinding.
