Essentials for Steeps

Postby h.harb » Sat Dec 26, 2009 5:26 pm

The latest Video from Harb Ski Systems.

I've always heard from the TTS crowd "You can't carve in the Bumps". Well, the Idea is to try and carve the best you can and you will have great movements, and control in bumps. In this frozen video clip I get angles not usually associated with bump skiing. I'm not trying for angles, but I am trying to carve the back of every bump.

Harald in your spare time.............................................

I think more Youtube excercises for explaining what and how tipping is accomplished would not go astray. Given TTS never mentions it in their lesson vocabulary but is as we know, the No 1 Essential of PMTS, further online time could be dedicated to it . All of the Youtube vids mention Tipping, so some slower basic drills could improve the introduction and understanding of the term to newbies. I know from all the camps and free skiing with other PMTS students we all practice the railroad tipping excercises on cat tracks and flat terrain.

At our December posse get together at A Basin everyone was doing it! Every time the the terrain was flatish the PMTS skiers would tip their skis. It's fun and a great one to be able to check results of clean tipping.

I lent my Tipping DVD to a mate 6 months ago so I can't check what footage is already usable, but I think the hop edge change that is on the Youtube video is too difficult to be its central drill.

Yes, I'll be working on a more defined Tipping video for you tube. It will also be part of our newly refreshed online lessons from our web site.
