Hello Harb Ski Campers!

We hope that you are enjoying your summer, and starting to think about the upcoming winter and ski season. If you are planning your lodging for the Solvista Basin Green/Blue Camp, here is some information.

You may lodge anywhere you like during the camp. Solvista offers a variety of lodging, including hotels, motels, condominiums, and B&B’s, at the base of the mountain, the foot of the access road, and in nearby Granby. Other than Base Camp One (see next section), you need to have a car in order to get to and from the mountain.

No Car?
If you will not have a car during camp, then plan to stay at Base Camp One, directly at the base of the mountain. You can eat dinner each night at the Seven Trails Grille in the base lodge. You will need to manage one ride to the City Market grocery store in order to stock up on breakfast provisions. Post a note on the forum and see if you can share a ride with another camper.

Car Rental in Granby
If you prefer not to drive over Berthoud Pass, you can take a shuttle from the airport to and from Granby, and rent a car there at Avalanche Car Rental, 970-887-3908.

Base Camp One
This deluxe lodge, directly at the foot of the mountain, provides ski-in, ski-out convenience at camp. Our campers have stayed there in ‘09-’10 (when it opened) and last season; our coaches stayed there last season and will be there again this season; staying there really adds to the camp group experience. Campers who stay there have an easy time socializing and finding dinner companions. You can walk to the lifts and walk to dinner each night at the Seven Trails Grille.

Want to share a unit? Post on the forum and see if you can find another camper to share with you.

Alpine Resort Properties have extended a 15% discount to our campers at their Solvista properties: Base Camp One, Kicking Horse, Mountainside, and Summit. [Remember that only Base Camp One is walking distance to the lifts and works without a car.] The discount is valid from 2/4 through 2/11.

How to book through Alpine Resort properties...

Booking by phone:
Ask for "Harb" rate code

Booking online:
Use booking code "harb"

Other Lodging
Solvista's web site has links to numerous lodging options...

Alignment Pre-days
If you are arriving early for camp and wish to have your indoor alignment session done prior to camp, we do have openings at our shop on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 4 & 5. [The shop is directly on your way from the airport to Solvista, but you'll need to have a car to come there.] Please call or e-mail us by mid-January if you wish to schedule a pre-day appointment.

Daily Alignment Sessions
Each afternoon's alignment session will take place in the base lodge.

Lift Tickets - Important!
We do get a slightly discounted group rate for our campers, but many lodging options include tickets at the same rate. If you can get tickets with your lodging, go ahead and buy them.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Diana - Could you or Chris sign me up for a fitting on Sunday? Also Chris recommended some skis for my level- rather than bring mine I was wondering about buying a good pair of boots and skis after the fitting - any suggestions?
