Identification

Postby blackthorn » Thu Dec 03, 2015 10:52 am

I would be very happy to wear a reasonably discreet decal on my ski helmet, or badge on my jacket to identify myself as a PMTS "enthusiast". It would be great to be able to engage in conversation with random others who might be wearing similar. ?Any possibilities?

An, er, underwhelming response! Maybe I'll get a tattoo and keep it secret

Was actually joking about that with Harald & Diana a few weeks ago at camp. Someone's boot label fell off and I suggested they make them available for sale.

Hey HH or DR! How about some pins!

Those of us who have bought boots from HSS or have been aligned at a PMTS camp have discreet stickers on our boots that identify us. Long ago there was a PMTS patch, but that's history now.

Although our skiing often gives us away, I'd be willing to wear some signal beyond my boot stickers.

Since PMTS is a trademark, one would need to work with pmts.org or with Harald and Diana to create any sort of insignia.

Yes, discreet sticker to wear on helmet would be great.
I almost always wear boot covers, so my HHS stickers and white sole plate are rarely visible.
I did see a skier at Elk Mountain a couple of years ago with HH label on his boots and asked him " Uh, do you tip to start to ski?"
He looked confused for a moment and then got it.
He had just come back from boofitting at Dumont.

What's with the secrecy, I doubt anyone is going to give you a hard time if they know you practice PMTS. I have been to a couple of TGR events with a PMTS sticker on my skis, nobody said anything to me other than something like "cool skiing bro"
Or you could ride up with an instructor and ask "how does it feel to teach people to ski badly?"
