Accreditation Teaching Standards - Yellow

In order to pass the teaching at the yellow level, the candidate must receive "yes" scores in 4 of the six requirements...

 

Determine/Motivation: Did the instructor try to determine what the students wanted from the lesson?

Determine/Understanding: Did the instructor identify the students' knowledge of their own skiing?

Determine/Movement: Can the instructor recognize incorrect movement and give feedback?

 

Fulfill/Motivation: Did the instructor assure each student at some time during the lesson that his expressed need was currently being addressed?

Fulfill/Understanding: Did the instructor present appropriate information for the level of the student?

Fulfill/Movement: Did the instructor introduce the appropriate movements for the skill of the students, based on their performance, and give feedback about the new task?

Accreditation Teaching Standards - Green

In order to pass the teaching at the green level, the candidate must receive "yes" scores in all six requirements...

 

Determine/Motivation: Did the instructor try to determine what the students wanted from the lesson?

In order to pass the teaching at the blue level, the candidate must receive "yes" scores in all six requirements...

 

Determine/Motivation: Did the instructor attempt more than once to validate that he was on the right track for the students' motivations?

Determine/Understanding: Did the instructor attempt to determine the understanding of the students in different ways?

Determine/Movement: Did the instructor make an attempt to find out if the students had an accurate awareness of their movements?

 

Fulfill/Motivation: Was the instructor able to tie the lesson content back to each student's motivation in a way that the student understood his motivation was being fulfilled?

Fulfill/Understanding: Was each student given an opportunity to express his understanding of instructions?

Fulfill/Movement: Did the instructor use more than one external cue to convey primary movements?

Accreditation Teaching Standards - Black

In order to pass the teaching at the black level, the candidate must receive "yes" scores in all six requirements...

 

Determine/Motivation: Did the instructor give each student the opportunity to express his feelings about whether or not his motivations were being adequately addressed?

Determine/Understanding: Did the instructor verify each student's degree of understanding by the student's movement description or verbal description?

Determine/Movement: Can the instructor recognize the Single Most Important Movement for each student?

 

Fulfill/Motivation: Did the instructor give each student an opportunity to acknowledge his own perception of progress?

Fulfill/Understanding: Did the instructor use movements and motivation to fulfill each student's understanding needs?

Fulfill/Movement: Did the instructor tailor tasks or activities to meet the specific individual needs of each student?
